I had new custom batteries made for the Skycontroller 2 that fit perfectly in the controller and have the exact same specs as the OEM battery. They also charge with the OEM charger. I'm gearing up to make another order if there's enough interest...

I have in hand 2 custom professionally made Skycontroller 2 batteries (silver joysticks). The custom battery fits perfectly in the Skycontroller 2 and has all the same specifications as the OEM battery. It also charges with the OEM charger. I can get more of them but the order has to be large.

Yeah, they look like pillows when they expand. I stole it from someone, oh well. That battery will only work with the SkyController 2P (black joysticks) and from what I've read you have to remove the plastic holder that holds the current battery in place. Haven't done it myself.

Yeah, but you can get 6" USB C cables for about $2 each. Buy two, mark one with metallic pen to show it's been modified. No foil shielding in the USB C, USB 2.0 cables I've been picking up in 5 packs from Amazon.. If there's foil shielding in the cable you use simply cut it out lengthwise...
