Does any one have any thoughts on using the AlienTech Pro 5.8 Ghz Antenna/Booster. At $369 plus shipping, it's not cheap, but for those wanting to fly in dense urban or even city environments, where there is lots of wifi interference. Would this be a good option. I am in South East Asia area. 5.8 Ghz signals are available, but not sure about signal strength. They make a 2.4 5.8 combo called the Duo. But it is not powered like the pro version is. Not to be negative but in general it is a bad idea to modify your controller as it is not type-approved anymore, which means it is illegal to use !!!

A modification causes you to lose your warranty on the controller.

A modification requires you to have some expertise in electronics and mechanical engineering, as well as appropriate tools.

Why not just try to fly in that place first and accept you can't fly as far away from the controller as you can outside the city?

Remember to set the RTH height so high that your Anafi does not hits anything if you lose the connection and she comes home to you again.

Fly safely, regards Leif.

That's only the half.
We're sending bidirectional. You send the commands from the controller to the Anafi, the Anafi send the Status, other things and picture/video back. This means, that the part of the receiver must be much more sensitive and/or the power of the transmission in the Anafi must be increased and/or the TX antenna in the Anafi must be modded, too. Only the part on the controller isn't really helpful

Nevertheless....the Signal could be stronger send out of the controller. Also the RX could be a little bit better with a tuned antenna...but not in the same range as you can increase the power of the transmitter. So as mentioned before: if you increased the power on one side, the same must be make on the other side. If you've a very sensitive antenna for RX you received also other sources which could queuze the needed signal
Look to the long range modd on the Disco: on both sides a mobile network was included :)
