for the record this has now been solved. I Used a usb drive (1gb) in FAT32 format and copied the file from the link below onto it.

The one from the parrot official website was 27-28mb and did not work. The correct file should be 158mb from memory.
My skycontroller 1 connected bebop now has a video feed.
