SC2 usb.connector

It seems the USB connector on the SC2 is loose with a cracked solder joint.

When I opened it up, I noticed a series of tiny surface mount capacitors, that have all slid off there respective locations.

Has anyone had this problem or even noticed them? How hot does it get, to melt the solder and let that little capacitor move?

This is a problem that cannot be solved by human hand, imo. If the usb port does not work at all, you may consider replacing the main board. If it works stay with the "problem".

Hello Todd,

It’s possible to repair the broken USB connector, I’ve done a couple myself.

With eBay selling complete SkyController 2 controllers inexpensive, just get one off eBay.

I don’t know if the boards can be replaced, the two boards may a matching set and if separating them with another board it may not work.

Good luck, try eBay for another complete controller.
