Here are a few Do's and Don'ts for new drone pilots or pilots new to Parrot drones.

* READ THE MANUAL!

* Preflight the drone, looking especially for prop damage.

* Fly close and slow until you get a feel for the controls.

* Practice over a course until you can fly it accurately with the drone pointed in any direction, especially at you. There are lots of training videos on YouTube.

* Set the Geofence parameters fairly close and low until you get proficient.

* Practice initially in a large area with no obstructions, preferably with soft grass and winds less than 10 mph/16 km/hr.

* Do NOT fly the drone down to a battery level below 10% unless it is within a few meters. Taking the battery below this shortens its life.

* Initiate RTH at no less than 25% battery if far away and 15% if within 200 meters. The reason for this is that the battery percentage readout is not super accurate.

* Do NOT fly the drone over water, unlandable terrain or forests until you have some experience.

* Do NOT fly the drone in an area with lots of obstacles until you have lots of experience.

* Reset the RTH altitude before flight to reflect the environment.

* If you lose signal while underneath some obstruction the drone will crash into it upon RTH! Don't fly underneath things unless you are close by and certain you will not lose signal.

* Remember that the drone has no avoidance sensors and it is really easy to misjudge distance and clearances when flying by first person view. Give yourself more room.

*Do NOT ignore yellow or red warnings on the bottom of the screen. Take action!

*READ THE MANUAL! Again, and again, and after not flying for a while.

*Don’t forget to have fun. :)
