are we limited to 500 meters in uk

How do you mean "limited"? I assume that you mean horizontally and not vertically.
Do you lose control at 500m or does the Anafi refuse to go any further. If the latter then you may have the geofence turned on.

Check your Wifi surroundings with a Wifi Analyzer app.
Choose a free channel or switch to 5 GHz band.

I finally got to try my one today (in the UK)

Did one flight on auto WiFi and the other two on 5ghz chn165

Second flight delayed "battery too cold". Anyway, after it warmed up range was reduced even further on that but signal when drone was close was better e.g. just overhead.

So for close up flying 5ghz good.

I think you did the same as me today. seen the weather(less than 10mph winds) and didnt think the sub zero temp would be a problem(i live NW england). how wrong were we! i did manage to get the drone to launch but lost 8min of video!

to the OP i got around 1000m range today and i didnt do anything to the settings(flying with the controller). flying in the uk over a large empty marsh
