Follow Me on iPad or Android Tablet

Hello everyone,

I've recently been flying my BB2 again and I've noticed that Follow Me shows up on my iPhone, but not my iPad. Nor does it show up on the Android version on my Fire Tablet.
Is this the way it is supposed to work?

Any work arounds if so?

I don’t have a BB2 but wondering if the two devices iPad & fire tablet have gps?

Yes they do.
I read something very recently that they will NOT work on tablets. But no explanation as to why...seems a bit weird to me.
