I'm new here and I'm also new as dronepilot. Looking for a good and free drone simulator for my Anafi, so I can train a little before going out into the big world. Can anyone help? Thanks!

I’ve always liked realflight.

They have 19 drones available, in addition to sailplanes, planes, jets, helicopters and a blimp.

FPV and normal RC view, and they support oculus and htc vr headsets now.

The main version comes with a realistic rc controller, although I see they have a software only option.

It’s not cheap software, but if the experience gained there helps you avoid crashing your drone you probably come out ahead anyway.

There’s a few different versions available

@AugerIn

RealFlight looks great. Only @T33 is not clear if he / she using Windows or Mac OSX

Yeah, Realflight needs windows, though I’ve always run it in Parallels, you could use vmware or bootcamp or probably even virtualbox at this point. Can’t get around needing a copy of windows for directx game though.

There’s a wine page with some earlier versions tested, though there are few reports and they vary wildly from gold to garbage, and nothing on the more recent 8 version: WineHQ - RealFlight

Question, would RealFlight runs on Parallels Desktop on a Mac?
Before buying it i would like to be shure it's works on a iMac

Yes, RealFlight works just fine in parallels.

Realflight 8 should run alright on a recent model iMac.

Thanks, i will buy it. Any tips where the cheapest version without controler in Europe. I see prices from 100 euro to 220 euro :-(

Welcome to the Forum. I think you will enjoy your membership. There are many other members happy to provide assistance for any issues you may have, and those that may need information you bring. A lot of good information is already stored in existing threads.

Couple easy things:
1.) The search Icon is your friend. It's the magnifying glass near the upper right of the screen when you scroll all the way up. It can find many answers you will never find by yourself.
2.) Be aware that you won't always get a quick response. There are times when many other members are on line, and sometimes only a few. A response may not show up until the right person sees it.
3.) Be aware the forum is Global. If you are exchanging with a member on the other side of the world, response can get delayed and out of sequence due to a difference in local time.
4.) Although the Forum is global, the language is English. It is customary to translate other languages to English. Many members also include the original language post to help alleviate translation errors.
5.) Review the forum rules (on the bottom right). There are not too many, but it is important they are followed to keep the Forum a useful and happy place for everyone.

That’s kindof a standard introductory thing everybody gets, it’s not a violation warning or anything, just general suggestions.

Not sure about where to buy, they have it available on steam if that’s your thing, or I think a direct download from their site linked to above.

I bought mine with controller from a local hobby store here in Canada.

The controller is really nice, but you can probably get by with a twin stick game pad, the only difference will be on many rc controllers the left stick will not auto center up and down, but stay wherever you adjust it, for the throttle.

Ok thanks, i already know the rules ;-) ....

Thanks for the info .. i will buy it soon and hope al works on my iMac 2017 .. its the one with Fusion-drive and 18 Gb memory and running Parallels Desktop. If i get any delay i will try to install Bootcamp.

Preparing for the winter when it's not possible to fly outside.

Hi, got it working.

Installed Bootcamp en buy Realflight 8 on Steam. I also have Realflight Drone installed in Windows 10.
All working with a Interlink Elite controller.

I'm ready for the winter .. only yesterday it was 41°C (shadow temp) in Belgium so it was also 'inside flying

One more question .. is there any kind of Parrot Anafi drone to fly within RealFlight 8. In X-Plane you have the possibility to import new planes so it would be great if the possibility would be available in RealFlight too .. just guess

Happy Flying

W.

Welcome from Chicago

With Anafi and Bebop you can set the drone in "FILM" Mode in pilot page which slows it done and turn on geometry fence with low altitude short distance like 100ft (provided nothing is in that area) in Safety page

This will make it easy to get going always make sure both GPS icons are green before flying

My beef with simulators if they do not use the actual controller they really do not help enough
with respect to real feeling
