How do you go about getting Commercial License - Part 107?

Hi Guys,
I would like to start selling photos with my drone and wanted to know a little about obtaining commercial license - Is there a long waiting list? Do I need any special documents? Should I register with FAA first or is that taken care of when I get a commercial license? ...And any other tips you think might be helpful. Thanks very much everyone.

Step 7 applies if you're flying commercially. If you're flying recreationally after you get your 107 you're not required to have your license with you.

While you can find all the information required for the test free on-line, if you have no prior aviation experience, I'd recommend taking an on-line course. It consolidates the information you need for the test into subject groups and helps you focus on the most important information that will be required for the test. There are subjects like aviation weather, interpreting sectional maps, etc. that can be overwhelming without someone taking you step by step through deciphering the reports and maps.
