Update:
i was not able to connect to the SC2 directly via a USB/ethernet adapter. I was about to give up and trash the entire drone. So I tried again outside to connect my phone to the drone WIFI and connect phone to SC2 via usb cable.
It was working, I was about to turn it all off and give up, then noticed that the SC2 light was green. What!!! Check the FF app and I'm still connected to the drone and the SC2 is also connected. Did a test flight and it works!!!!
Then battery died and plugged in second battery. Cross fingers it still works....FF app thought about it, SC2 thought about it and boom. Connected with green light on SC2.
So, no idea what's different, maybe just waiting long enough? Flip flop within FF app, connect/reconnect usb cable?
Will play with it some more, but as it stands it seems working with a bit a finger crossing
