Parrot Anafi Thermal fell out of the sky at 50% battery

I've had my Anafi Thermal combo for a few years now. A couple of years ago, I was visually flying it when it suddenly fell out of the sky onto soft grass from about 25 feet up. It was fine and worked normally after that. I thought I must have accidentally pressed a button or something. I also noticed that the batteries discharge by themselves even when I don't use them. I just thought that that was one of the downsides of a smart battery. I haven't flown the Anafi for about a year and today, I decided to take it out again and fly it. charged the batteries and remote to full and went out to fly it. After about 15 minutes of visual flight, I brought it back with still about 50% battery left, as it hovered to land about 20 feet off the ground and about 30 feet away from me, it just suddenly fell on the pavement and smashed to several pieces. Now, it won't even broadcast a signal and cannot connect to the remote or my iPad. I see a lot of other posts here with the same issue. I think there is some defect in this product. I hope Parrot has a solution to this.

I think it is a bad (aged) battery that causes this incident. This 50% is not very telling. If the battery is aged it could have a higher internal resistance. This means the voltage is good (and so the display of the % capacity) but if higher current starts to flow the voltage breaks down and the "smart" battery cuts off.

However, this is only a assumption though it is very probable. To identify or exclude this we need to see the voltage chart of this flight. Download the *.json flight log and check it. You can use ShowAnafiLog to do this easily.

Sometimes I ask if the flight was performed in extreme heat, which is why I am wondering if the batteries have a stand alone cutoff on the BMS pcb board itself called over temperature cutoff.

We need to know if Parrot put
Under voltage cutoff or temperature cutoff (too hot) on their batteries and who even knows about aftermarket ones.
