I was out shooting a hyper lapse in 30F temps when the iPhone 6s Plus shut down. Pretty concerned, I brought the bird down manually, but lost the shot. Later, I realized it would have engaged RTH when the battery dropped to a low charge.
I have tried it twice since, and both times the iPhone consistently quit due to the cold. The Anafi stayed on the job, hovering for the hyper lapse, then returning automatically. Altitude was near the max, and about the same distance away horizontally. No obstructions in between. When it’s within 15’ or so, I take over and bring it in for hand landing.
So until I can find a more cold-resistant screen, I'll use the iPhone to set up the shot, then let the bird return on its own.
