So I have an SD card in my Mambo, however I'm not sure what it's used for. Can it be used for recording video? If so, how can I record it?

Yes, your videos and photos are stored on the microSD card.
You can record videos by tapping on the red shutter circle on the bottom right of the Freeflight Mini screen.
After the flight you can download the videos to your phone.
