Do Prop guards work?

hi guys/girls,

I recently brought my first drone... (yes am a noob). really been enjoying it but lack confidence so i thought i would try a proper guard. Got one off amazon (uk) think it was called "PENIVO Anafi Protectors"

after installion the drone didn't sound right and then all of a sudden just dropped from the sky. Lucky for me it was close to the ground so no damage done. After removing them the drone was perfect again.

Has anyone has any experience with prop guards? Did i install them wrong or did something wrong?

Prop guards usually don't have such a influence. Is is more like looking into a crystall ball, but the dropping from the sky can have other reason, too!
