GPS Lapse horizontally and vertically?

Does anyone know if the GPS Lapse mode will trigger a photo if the drone moves a set distance vertically as well as horizontally?

I’m trying to plan a mapping mission of a Dam face but I wasn’t sure if it would trigger a photo as I’m moving up the face of the cliff.

Easy enough to just fly stepped lines that are parallel to the ground but it would be nice if GPS Lapse took into account a vertical distance as well.
