Parrot reports North American consumer drone market contraction (down 56%)

That actually is reasonable. Many years of hyper growth doesn't just stay that way. Those that buy early, already have. Many say "no" to that next upgrade (again) in less than 2 years. Smartphone markets are the same. PC did that in the early 2000's. Nothing new here except now it's in the drone world.

And then there is the absolute proliferation of $100.00 drones on the market that quickly satisfy (or sour) the curiosity of the less than truly interested enthusiast.
For minimal investment they can either see that it is only a fun "toy", or are totally disappointed with the poor performance of the product...

I expect the consumer portion of the market to contract further with the commercial pressure, on the FAA, to give them 0-400 feet for drone deliveries/other similar commercial objectives.

Reduced sales is happening with all drones. A couple years of people chasing each new product release has left them tapped out.
