Yep.Ok, thanks for clarifying that. It certainly seems like the issue is the physical connection between the controller and phone.
As others have said, the USB port has been a weak point for some people. If you've tried other cables etc then it seems likely to be an issue with the controller port/electronics (as you mention it doesn't even charge your device).
If it's all still under warranty it would be time to contact parrot. If not, it's either investigate it further yourself with tools like magnifying glass, soldering iron and multimeter or see if you can find someone selling a spare.
