UAV forecast indicated a KP index of 5.0 today, climbed to about 190 feet and recieved a yellow perturbation message, I guess there are red messages as well? At 200 feet the only thing I can think of bothering the compass are the solar flares? Would this trigger that message? Next battery change forced me to do a drone calibration.

You are right this very well could have been the result of solar flares. I have been doing some research on geomagnetic storms and this is one of the effects as it impacts GPS connectivity. I had similar issues but did not know what it was. About a week ago the kp index was about an 8.

NOAA on Solar WX impact on GPS.

I was unable to determine the exact specs of the GPS chips employed by Parrot in its drones. GPS jamming, whether natural or man made is a growing problem. This is why number of navigation chip makers developing non-GPS internal navigation chip that use AI enabled mapping algorithms that derive positioning from inputs from internal gyro chip (that detect movement), look down terrain mapping chips, or even quantum sensing chip that detect changes in the Earth magnetic field. Not exactly useful to our Anafis, but of use to military, 1st responder, and corporate high end UAS buyers.

I recently saw this article on a multi news site about unintended EMF being generated from the starlink satellites. I wonder if thats part of what I am getting up there.

SpaceX now has a constellation of more than 6,000 satellites in orbit, providing high-speed internet to almost anywhere on Earth.

"Starlink satellites have been emitting unintended electromagnetic radiation, which the LOFAR astronomers believed to be from faulty batteries."
