Cannot update anafi

Hi all, I have just purchased a new anafi and I cannot get it to “transfer update to drone” I have followed all the guidelines for set up but I am frustrated at this stage as to what to do. I am using an iPhone 7 in the control unit to fly. But I just keep getting “update error” every time I try to get it going. Any help
At all would be appreciated.

You may have to wait until an Apple phone owner comes along. I am on Android myself.

It may be worth detailing in a post exactly what you have done step by step and when the error message appears.

What IOS do you have?
I bought my Anafi a month ago. Iphone 7 on 12.1.2 ... update was easy (and the last update I did was on the 24th dec and that was ok too).

I actually followed that video myself last night and that’s when the “update failed warning “ came up and I have tried multiple times since and still no joy.
Tried resetting drone! Deleted app and tried again and still nothing. But thanks for the reply.

Time to borrow a phone and see if that helps. Just try to eliminate something... but I hear your frustration...

Just checked and Im on iOS 12.1.3 so that eliminates that....... thanks anyway pal.

Are you in a location with lots of WiFi networks?

If, yes perhaps try somewhere else.

I was on 12.1.2 when I did my updates following the instructions in the pdf manual. There's a sticky link to it on this Anafi forum. Maybe that is slightly different in the process of doing the update? I haven't compared the two. I just know that method worked perfectly for my iPhone 8 Plus.

Another thought, sometimes after recent updates to iOS, I have to do another restart of the phone for certain things to work properly again, even after the startup's of the installation of the iOS update!

That would be extremely frustrating. I'd open a case with Parrot & see what they say.

If you could video what you are doing with your daughters phone, we could see what's happening & pick up on anything that may be done in the wrong order or whatever.

Just double checking you have a MicroSD card in the slot? If not put one in. If there's already one in there, replace it with another one and format it in the Anafi, then try the update again.

Some dodgy microSD cards out there - I had the same issue on android, replaced the card and it worked.

Opened a case with parrot last night, so awaiting their reply today. I will try and get video up this evening of exactly what I’m doing and maybe I am doing something stupid ! But I don’t think so. Appreciate the advice.

Hi cheetah, 16g card came in the bundle which I changed out to a 32g, I have tried changing back to the original card and starting again ! Still nothing. Gonna borrow a mates android phone this evening and give that a go.... process of elimination I guess. But I’m running out of these fast. Thanks for advice.

Sorry I couldn't really be of much help here, it sounds like an oddity at play somewhere. I've been lucky & had no issues apart from a drone eating tree!

So tried again today guys with an Android phone..... and still no joy. So my phone has been ruled out! It’s gotta be a problem between drone and app.
