Hi. Just wondering while flight in a flightplan mode do I need constant connection with a drone or can I send him further away and it will come back on his own after completing the flightplan?

Connection does not have to be maintained. It will try to complete the plan. The only exception is it may abort and execute a return to home if it thinks the battery is getting low.
