Hey I'm from Montin N.B. and finally just bought my first drone, that being the Parrot ANAFI. Hopefully I will enjoy learning to pilot it and also learn a lot more about the wonderful world of Flying ... thanks for having a platform to meet others and seek new information with ease

Welcome to the forum from the UK. As the Anafi is your first drone take it nice and slow to start with. Read the online user guide at least two times and don't use any of the automatic modes until you are comfortable manually flying it. Fly safe.

Thanks for the advice.. last thing I would want to do is wreck 'er on my first flight... Think I'll watch a few videos on YouTube as well as I'm sure I'll pick up some valuable info there as well..

Welcome to the Forum. I think you will enjoy your membership. There are many other members happy to provide assistance for any issues you may have, and those that may need information you bring. A lot of good information is already stored in existing threads.

Couple easy things:
1.) The search Icon is your friend. It's the magnifying glass near the upper right of the screen when you scroll all the way up. It can find many answers you will never find by yourself.
2.) Be aware that you won't always get a quick response. There are times when many other members are on line, and sometimes only a few. A response may not show up until the right person sees it.
3.) Be aware the forum is Global. If you are exchanging with a member on the other side of the world, response can get delayed and out of sequence due to a difference in local time.
4.) Although the Forum is global, the language is English. It is customary to translate other languages to English. Many members also include the original language post to help alleviate translation errors.
5.) Review the forum rules (on the bottom right). There are not too many, but it is important they are followed to keep the Forum a useful and happy place for everyone.

There are dozens of those, some better than others. I must have watched nearly a hundred and picked up tidbits out of each one, except those posted by ten year olds. ;) Some are good enough to bookmark and watch several times.

This one is a good place to start: How to Fly a Quadcopter: Eightfold Missions to Mastery - Droney Bee

EDIT: In one part of that they say to fly the drone at 3 to 4 inches! BAD IDEA! Waist height would be OK.

I had to learn in my driveway, since it was the only place snow free within miles! The snow was so deep I would have had to use snowshoes to retrieve it. I learned precise control from the start, how to fly boxes and circles, nose in and out, etc. Look for a more open space than that, with nice soft grass!

The Anafi is very user friendly for close in work, being so quiet. You can walk it just like a dog. Use Film Mode at first and perhaps reduce the flight parameters even more, and be slow and gentle moving the sticks. The App is quite sophisticated and it takes some time to learn all of the flight modes and camera controls. Then it gets really fun! :)
