I know most people are going to see "Spotwelder" and switch off because they think it is beyond them.
See photo of mine built from Youtube video for £10. Thats some meter tails I had and a car battery. The solenoid is for a motor cycle was £6 and the moment switch is to start a car and was £4. I have a pipe clip fastened to the edge of my bench to hold the switch so I can strike it with my fist. If you try to use the switch with your thumb you can't do it fast enough,or at least I can't.
Photos of original battery and then the build using two Panasonic 3400mAh batteries from a failed experiment. Was my first battery build so it was good to strip it down and find that all the spot-welding was good. Mine was the single 18650 so I put mine in parallel giving 6800mAh. Don't think there is any reason you couldn't put them in series for the silver sticks version.
