Anafi thermal not working with FreeFlight6 !!

Hello,

I’m new to this site but I looked everywhere and cannot find an answer. I have a Anafi thermal drone that will not work. When I first got the drone it flew no problem I took pictures all was fine. The second time I tried to connect I got an error on FreeFlight6 telling me “we encountered a problem with your drone please contact parrot support”. I reached out to them and it’s been 2 week with no help. I tried a different cable for my iPhone, resetting the drone, the ONLY thing that works is reinstalling the app completely and then the whole thing happens all over again same error message. Any help on this would be appreciated. I have an iPhone X and the latest firmware on the Anafi and controller. Anafi has me in a loop telling me a tech guy will call me and they never do. I have a $1900 drone that’s useless.

My first thought is to try another phone (beg or borrow)
I do not use iPhone so I am not as savvy as others might be with that hardware but it seems there is something affecting the app itself on your device since it does work then not? Recent system update?

Thanks for the reply! I did try a galaxy 8 and same problem! Actually the galaxy didn’t even let me fly the drone once it right away told me “error detected with drone” something along those lines. I tried different cables everything.

Unfortunately, That sounds like a problem with the drone. There is a reset procedure through the app as well as a "hard reset" using the battery button. Maybe try that?

Hello and thanks for the reply. The drone is not causing this issue it is definitely software related. The drone is fully functional everything works perfectly fine when the app is first installed it is only when the app is turned on the second time that this error shows up. In addition when I close out of the app while I'm still connected with the remote to the drone I can actually fly the drone with no problems I just cant see any video obviously but If i launch the app again I cannot do anything with the drone. I really regret buying this Parrot drone. I guess that's what I get by not going DJI. The extra $1000 to go with the enterprise mavic 2 pro is worth it in REAL customer service ALONE!
 
I have the same problem. Bought from Amazon on 2/12/20 an Anafi Thermal. Got this message after calling the support number they said that support is only by email and was sent a request for support to tell them my problem. After a day or so I got the reply that it was stolen. Amazon sent me another. Same thing again. They sent me the 3rd. Something again. So now I am told they will refund my money.
 
What does the seller say ? Why didn't you send it back yet ?
 
Amazon sent me 2 replacement and all three are said to be stolen. Parrot has blocked them. I cannot believe this is happening. I have tried to have Amazon test one to see if it works, but no help. On the card, it shows some videos but nothing actually flying or thermal images. They are refunding my money. I wish Parrot would help.

Are you saying you got the third one already and it is stolen also? Holy cow. It would seem Amazon must have bought a truck full of stolen Anafis. I know it happens but for Amazon to get shafted with stolen products and not know about it seems kind of fishy. Maybe a inside job noidea (1).gif

I don't see what Parrot could do... unlock the stolen drones ? That's why Amazon is for e-books only (I'm half joking, but that's what I do if I can find the same item elsewhere), go to ebay instead, or better, some specialised store on the web.

And second-hand drones anyway, that's a bit risky...

They have sent me a form to fill out with Parrot. They could not contact Parrot's support.
I filled out the form and mention that what gives them the right to block a drone that I have purchased.

Have you got a Serial number of any of them, I would be just interested in checking against the Blacklist incorporated in the Application.

It may even be possible to remove a Serial number and repack the application...... But not totally ethical. But definitely interested to check any of your serials.
 
I checked them and not listed. Let me attach one picture of one of them.

They must be running another check over the air. If its not in the blacklist of the application, then it has to be (I am guessing) otherwise how/why is it denying you.

Trouble is there are so many vendors on Amazon, you never really know who you are dealing with or where their stock has come from. Its really odd that all 3 have been reported as stolen......
 
Are they legally able to block you? You bought it and cannot use it. It would be interesting if changing the reg# helped.

If its stolen stock from Parrot or one of their suppliers, then I guess the answer is yes they can legally block.

So many issues with Amazon. In the UK we are going through major issues with Amazon and things like Baby Seats being sold as compliant, and when tested, would of killed the baby.

But there are so many dealers, they cannot just pull all the listings from all dealers.

Same way someone can be selling stolen stock..... May well be stolen from Amazon as well.

Personally after receiving the 3rd one, I would want my money back and go elsewhere.
 
Your right. Just have this job that needs to be done and need it ASAP. Is there any other problems that others are having? I was going to get an Autel EvoII Thermal, but can't get any information when it is going to be available. I have DJIs but feel that they are having issues.

I was perfectly happy with my Anafi up to the point of the 1.64 update. Loved it so much that I haven't touched my Mavic Pro since I got the Anafi.

Since 1.64 there seems to be many different issues:
  • FCC / CE Mode Issues
  • Force Landings
  • Falling out of the sky
  • Long period before GPS Lock

Probably more, but a lot of unhappy people on 1.64.

Its got me so hacked off with Parrot, that tomorrow I shall be dusting off my Mavic Pro, which has been fully doctored and allows me to fly making all the decisions, so no crappy "DJI No Fly Zones". It has all the enhanced performance mod's, I just liked how the Anafi was quieter and easy to "Grab n Go".

Just purchased the "Master Air screw" props in a bid to reduce a bit of the MPA's noise.

Unless something happens with the next Anafi firmware, I will sell up and leave Parrot, which is not something I take lightly.

Its a case of watching & waiting to see what Parrot are going to do.
 
Your right. Just have this job that needs to be done and need it ASAP. Is there any other problems that others are having? I was going to get an Autel EvoII Thermal, but can't get any information when it is going to be available. I have DJIs but feel that they are having issues.

I also moderate on the Autel forum. The EVO 2 is delayed by the virus as no one is working in China. All the first orders will need to be filled which was suppose to be the 1st of March but this has been pushed back many weeks. The EVO with the 1" sensor was suppose to be a month after that but will also be pushed back. The thermo was to be the last one released and no one know just how long this virus is going to cause problem with production.
