So, there are a few options for me, I can get an

1 battery, refurbished (Windsor) from Amazon for 410 dollars,
1 battery, a "demo unit" from an electronics store here for 520 dollars
one year old used with 3 batteries from facebook 520 dollars

A brand new battery here is 75 dollars.

What are your thoughts? A refurb is good because it will have been checked over and comes with a 90 day warranty., a demo unit could be good because its only likely been flown a limited number of times, but no specialised technicians have looked it over, also comes with a limited warranty like a refurb. The best price would be the used one, but who knows how the owner has flown it, how many crashes its had, how well the batteries have been maintained and no warranty. Any input would be helpful!

I got an Amazon/Windsor refurb back in March and now have about 70 flights with no problems whatsoever. The only flaw I could find on super close inspection was a slight ding in one corner of the battery. I would go with the refurb. Quite a number of folks have had problems with brand new Anafis so it's always a crap shoot. I figured that 90 days was enough time to find any problems and I was right.

thanks for the input Rocky, I think you're right, the refurbish is the safest option, and purchasing a new battery with the money I save. Im not too concerned with cosmetic flaws, of course they could be an indication of a crash, but as long as all the internals work as they should, Ill be a happy camper!

I put my Anafi through all its paces as soon as I could. There are a few modes I never did get to but I may never use them. I bought a second battery with the savings and then eventually a third. Now I have almost an hour of flight time even though I usually don't go lower than 20%. Too many crashes and fly aways reported here for me to do that routinely, although the couple of times I did go down to 5% low over nice soft grass it did exactly what it was supposed to do as far as warnings and auto RTH went. Over landable and retrievable terrain I might go as low as 10%. Below that isn't great for the battery life anyway.

You'll love it! :)

Just placed my order! Fingers crossed I got a good one, as you say, as soon as I get it ill put it through its paces. Its going to be a PITA if there are any problems, since Im in Europe, but thats the risk I took to save 200 bucks!

I have 2 refurbed Anafis purchased from Woot! (Amazon)...one is the extended kit which cost me $529, the second is a basic kit which I paid $339 for...both refurbished by Windsor. Have yet to fly the second one due to weather, but it looks brand new (as does the first one) and everything seemed to function properly on the bench. I've flown the first one several times and it performs very well, and I was surprised at the range I got (about 500 meters), considering that my area is heavily populated with 60-100' tall trees and housing developments...my flights are all straight up to 200'-300' and then "virtual" LOS from there on....

EDIT: Finally got to fly the second Anafi today 2/23 in breezy conditions...performed flawlessly and range is about the same as the first one. Only thing I noticed was that the distance display was indicating around 264 feet when hovering right in front of me at the takeoff point. It did give me a green notice of home point being set when it took off. Did not try RTH, however. I'll wait till I can fly it in more open surroundings, too many trees around my house.

I got a basic model from Windsor for $360 as a Christmas present for myself. Not a problem with anything and now have 27 flights on it. Only problem is I’ve probably come close to spending at least half as much again on accessories. So far! ;)
Enjoy your Anafi!

Normally I would advice against it, but I see many positive reactions so it must be good!

I would never buy any drone second hand though
