From January 1st, 2026, thousands of Parrot Disco FPV users could face a full ban.

Under current EU drone regulations, unclassified drones like the Disco will no longer be allowed to operate in Category A2 – regardless of how safe or responsibly they’re used.

Yes, Category A3 would still be legal, but let’s be honest: that severely limits real-world applications.

And that hits especially hard for small operators and solo entrepreneurs (EPUs) who rely on the Disco as an affordable and capable platform for mapping, monitoring, or environmental work.
From a sustainability standpoint (think ESG standards), it makes zero sense to ban and scrap well-functioning, reliable technology. Why throw away what's still working – and working well?

Let’s be clear: this isn’t a toy.
The Parrot Disco is a fully developed fixed-wing drone – with smooth gliding, low kinetic energy, return-to-home functions, and solid flight stability. It's ideal for surveying land, documenting disaster zones, or supporting precision farming.

So what do we want?
Not another symbolic extension – but a real, long-term solution.
Maybe a dedicated category for fixed-wing aircraft?
Or a permanent exception with reasonable upgrade requirements?
The technology exists. What's missing is the political will.

I’m currently putting together a full legal-technical report and a petition to the EU to make sure the Disco – and other fixed-wing legacy drones – can keep flying under fair and realistic conditions.
If you fly a Disco, care about drone freedom, or don’t want to see good tech thrown out for no reason:
Reach out. We need your voice, your knowledge, and your support.
