Hi. After much internal debate about whether to get a Mavic Air or an Anafi I went for the Anafi. The better camera, quieter blades and cheaper price won me over. I've ordered the extended version. Is the anything I need to consider before I first fly it? Any potential pitfalls I should be aware of? I really don't want to crash it or lose it. I am interested in using it for some great aerial shots and video. I have some experience flying drones so general flying shouldn't be an issue.

Welcome to the Forum. I think you will enjoy your membership. There are many other members happy to provide assistance for any issues you may have, and those that may need information you bring. A lot of good information is already stored in existing threads.

Couple easy things:
1.) The search Icon is your friend. It's the magnifying glass near the upper right of the screen when you scroll all the way up. It can find many answers you will never find by yourself.
2.) Be aware that you won't always get a quick response. There are times when many other members are on line, and sometimes only a few. A response may not show up until the right person sees it.
3.) Be aware the forum is Global. If you are exchanging with a member on the other side of the world, response can get delayed and out of sequence due to a difference in local time.
4.) Although the Forum is global, the language is English. It is customary to translate other languages to English. Many members also include the original language post to help alleviate translation errors.
5.) Review the forum rules (on the bottom right). There are not too many, but it is important they are followed to keep the Forum a useful and happy place for everyone.

Well, obviously the Anafi has no obstacle avoidance, so you must be certain of your intended flight path. Although you have experience, the Anafi is a bit different. Best to keep in LOS while you learn the app and the responsiveness of the drone in film and sport mode, and what happens when you modify those parameters.

Fly it in a wide open space with no interference for a while. Don't try to go out 4 km as some have done! My limit has been 2.5 km when I lost signal in hilly terrain. The autonomous modes are really neat but take some thoughtful planning. There are many threads here to help avoid disaster!

Welcome to the forum from Manchester. Whilst you Anafi is in the post I would advise that you take a while to read the online User Guide from the Parrot site. It is a few versions out if date but it does cover most things.
