Metal piece on antenna question

What is this metal part on the antenna for? What does it do? The repair manual calls it a "ground reminder" what is a ground reminder?

It is just a grounding point (to reduce any induced rf energy from effecting the motherboard electronics) combined with a cable retention mechanism.

Why would that effect the MB the 2.4 cables are already insulated
