New Anafi Firmware & Battery Update March 4th 2020 V1.6.5_FF6 V6.6.6

No idea with the batteries but you could maybes try a similar way as you do with the ananfi, press so it lights up and then press and hold for 12 seconds until all lights turn red.
I wonder whether the controller has a factory reset that would be interesting.

I just actually tested that and when you release after the 12 seconds it's does actually do a few red flashed don't know exactly what that means. Probably means I've just made one of my batteries incompatible with current firmware lol

I am on the following versions as I turned off auto updates a l-o-o-o-o-o-n-g time ago.Parrot's updates are never properly tested,so I take no chances until I see the "all clear" from Parrot Beta testers in this forum.
6.6.2 (Freeflight)
1.6.3(Anafi)
Freeflight tells me there is an update ready for the Anafi, but it allows me to fly.I like to fly.
Broke not-fix not.

I'm going to hold here at 1.6.5 - 6.6.6. (thanks catkinson80) It's working good for me. Now Parrot needs to work on stuff that needs fixing. Like Flight Plan. Fix the tilt camera function, the unwanted pauses, and the point of interest wonkiness.

That was fixed earlier, check the videos of the tech guy or what he’s called. I’ll like the video later

Wow, the tilt does work. It's been broke so long I quit even trying. The first and last couple of POI waypoints are still weird but I've got a work around for those.

I tested the tilt just now and it worked for me. I did a quick flight plan with a tilt to 17 degrees, then zero, and then 20 degrees and it worked all 3 times. This is with Android.

Have you ever tried a flight plan?

That is right. I never experienced the problems which were fixed half a year ago. I always had smooth transitions between waypoints, sometimes to the point of having to insert extra waypoints near the point of interest to keep focus on the subject longer. The whole 'point A pause point B pause point C' never was an issue for me, nor gimbal positioning when the POI-height was set correctly.

I did wish they would implement a system where you can create a flight plan, but move the entire view 'along the rail'; with the controller in realtime

what you are stating directly contradicts what is said in your video, especially at 4:05
Watch around 0:50-1:00 first, please.
And watch his previous flight at that location, too!

There is still something that needs workarounds, methinks!

Is there a way to factory reset the Batteries ???
I'd say no.

You can, however, reset them. Just I would not expect them to switch the fw to factory

1. Press the smart battery’s power button and keep it pressed for 15 seconds, regardless of the LEDs behavior.

2. Release the battery’s power button.

3. The battery’s LEDs run green and red, then display the battery’s charge level for a few seconds.

4. The battery’s hard reset is complete.

Can anyone explain why Parrot released the 1.6.4 and 1.6.5 firmware? What did you want to fix? I understand that adding new features requires new firmware. Version 1.6.3 has made many new features available, but not much has changed since then.
DJI drones have the ability to (slightly hidden) downgrade their firmware, but it is still a great courage to try out a new firmware ... Many have fallen down, many have become remote bricks (Spark), or simply crashed once (disabling OTG, range reduction / live video reduction).
Parrot cannot undo the firmware update so you have to think hard.
And after many people in this forum complain about new updates, many will update immediately ...
1.6.3 works fine for me and I don't see why I should upgrade. After all, it was the latest and it worked.
If someone reads: Do not update if you are satisfied with the operation! Only if Parrot comes up with something you need, but wait until it turns out there is no mistake ...

I believe that the Anafi firmware can be rolled back, how else would they test the updated firmware only to discover that it was buggy, are they gonna chuck out all those test or production drones that are unable to roll back to a working firmware then? I don't think so.....LOL, the firmware is installed on a flash ROM chip on the motherboard, if it can be flashed for an update then it can be re-flashed with an older firmware......... it's just that we as users haven't found out the sequence on how to do it....but I bet it's there somewhere.....LOL

The Anafi firmware cannot be rolled back..... certainly not by us. Some have tried and bricked their Anafi. Yes Parrot must have an option, and actually there is an option in the GUI interface when you go to its IP address, but when you try it fails.

Developers say nobody has write access to the system. Will be like DJI now, all encrypted and locked down..... Yes someone will eventually blow it open, but I think we will have moved on to another drone by then :)

Parrot engineers may be writing firmware with special headers and this can be installed even if it is older. Normal firmware does not have this header, so it checks the version and prevents the older one from being updated. (this is just a possible theory, but not just that)
