I just got a skycontroller 1 black edition for my bebop 2, when it shipped it arrived with an older firmware on it, I've tried updating it through a thumb drive, I've made sure it's formatted in fat32 and I've tried multiple drives some 16gb and some only 2gb, but the SC won't even enter the firmware update screen when I turn it on

✔ format usb to fat32 (Try a 2GB drive)
✔ download the latest SC1 update from Parrot's site.
✔ move the .plf to usb with no other files on it do not rename it.
✔ turn off SC1
✔ connect SC1 to screen with hdmi cable (optional)
✔ connect usb drive
✔ turn on the SC1
✔ update start automatically (USB stick light will flash when SC1 accesses the file properly)
✔ wait until it reboots
✔ turn off
✔ DO NOT TOUCH ANY BUTTON OR JOYSTICK OF SC1 DURING THE PROCESS, JUST WATCH SCREEN.
If it doesn't work, Check your usb connection internally it may have become un soldered, unable to provide you with a chance to update, repair.
Don't forget you can always do it automatically via FreeFlight Pro app.
