Battery latch

Had two recent close calls with the battery latch. Operator error but still something to check before every flight. In both cases the catch on the back of the battery wasn’t engaged and the battery was only secured by the main latch. I caught one before taking off and on the second time I noticed a gap under the back of the battery as the drone was taking off and passing at eye level.

Reminder, check battery installation every time !

There is a bit of finesse to get the battery mounted properly every time. Here is what works for me:

Hold the Anafi on its side in your left hand with thumb and middle finger just behind and below the rear legs and the index finger just behind the camera on the body. Take the battery in your right hand and position it 1/4 inch away from the clip and check that there is no gap between body and battery. Slide the battery forward that 1/4 inch with a bit of pressure until you hear and feel the lock click. Lefties do it mirror image. ?
