Freeflight 6 mod app - With Special Features

What is this alarm: "flight quality deteriorated autonomous flights are not available" ??
And why do you keep asking for calibration?
(I mean GPS weakness, that's the new firmware bug ...)
The alarm come from gps weakness I guess . For the calibration , the GC (gravity center) is a little bit behind ,so I guess the motherboard does't undestand and ask a calibration .

I have been working on modding FF6 with some of the extra (special) features they are offering for the US army and USA version of the Anafi.

Since the 1st day of owning the Anafi - mapping has been an weak point in the App, the need for online maps and the fact that you cannot preload large areas, or choose the type of mapping has been pretty annoying.

Finally with version 6.7.0 these features are there, but not for us normal Anafi folks - until now.

My mod enables these features :-

1. Import and use custom map tiles.

Using standard (as used by Google Map / Microsoft Maps / OSM / etc) raster map tiles in a folder structures of map name / zoom / x / y.png

You can also import a ZIP file with the necessary map tiles, if you prefer to keep your maps separated in ZIP files.

It can handle zooms levels of 2 to 21.

2. Import KML files.

You can import KML files to show place markers, polygons, lines, etc - you can now mark out areas like places you can fly or not. Places of interest, and flying routes. Possibilities are endless with this.

KML will show up on the map as an overlay - most display style types are shown - line width and colours etc.

3. Automatic custom maps by putting your tiles / zip files / kml files in to the Phone / Freeflight 6 / Custom maps folder on your phone. Anything in this folder will be shown on the map without importing.

View attachment 4960View attachment 4961

4. Display co-ordinates in the HUD Map, with Drone position, Dynamic position, and movable reticle. Co-ordinates can be copied to clipboard, and shared. Co-ordinate units are selectable between LATLNG, MGRS, UTM, and DMS

BATTERY VOLTAGE DISPLAY

THIS IS MODIFIED SOFTWARE, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, POSTED FOR INFORMATION & ENTERTAINMENT ONLY.

After many many hours of work on this, I finally managed to get battery voltage display. This is an experimental build with extensive changes, as listed below - so needs testing and feedback!

ChangeLog (12th November 2020) (Updates from 18th October 2020)

1) UBlox ephemeris now downloaded every 24 hours
2) Created new class/functions to get Drone Battery Voltage from ARSDK3 library
3) Created new class/functions to get Battery Voltage in to GroundSDK from ARSDK3
4) Modified GroundSDK BatteryInfo class to now include Voltage
5) Created new class/functions to update Voltage when it changes
6) Created new class/function to display Battery Level and Battery Voltage in Piloting Top Bar Right
7) Created conditional logic to trigger Battery Warning below 7190mV, and Battery Critical below 6800mV (existing warning below 20%, critical below 10% stay the same)
8) Made layout changes to reduce margins around top bar and widen drone status bar, as well colour adjustments - to fit new information.

Changelog (30 November 2020)

1) Cosmetic changes - Warning and Critical Battery colours removed transparency to aid visibility
2) Adjusted battery voltage notices Warning below 7190mV, Critical below 6990mV

Great post. Could you suggest a good android phone to use with ff6, as I purchased an fpv and downloaded 6.7.0 and my Samsung G9+ keeps stopping , tried clearing data and cache plus removing Sd card but still no good .?

Beautiful work. So, to install this modified version I must:
1 -uninstall freeflight 6 (I have the latest version and all the upgrades done)
2- As I am in Europe, so i download FF6_6_7_0_SE_BATTERY.apk and install.
It is ?

When you uninstall FF6 it will also ininstall the .obb file which the modified .apk file will not reinstall.
Before you uninstall FF6 make a copy of the /andriod/obb/com.parrot.freeflight6 directory in another place. I suggest your phones SD card. When you have uninstalled FF6 copy the com.parrot.freeflight6 directory back from your SD card, or wherever you saved it, back to /android/obb/ the install the modified .apk file.

Thanks, I'm in Europe, Portugal, should I install _SE or _FCC_SE? I apologize but I don't endorse much on the matter.

The _SE is the version that complies with the EU rules on transmission frquency power levels. The FCC_SE is a varsion that complies with the FCC (USA) power levels that are greater than is legal in the EU.

You must decide which one to install. They will both work no matter where in the world you are.

Thanks. I already installed the _SE version, everything seems OK, I connected everything, scrolled through the menus, but I haven't yet flown. Thank you very much for your initiative and for the work of AnafiPilot1. I am at your disposal for anything I can collaborate.

If FF6 does not find the correct OBB it will just download and install first time on launch, this applies to modifed and original FF6 versions.

All my modified apps are signed using the same crypto key, so you can install versions on top each other and you will keep your settings and sign-in details (Android treats it as an upgrade or re-install of an existing package), so you can change to the FCC or Non-FCC with no issues.

After 2 crashes due to my fault and one due to incorrect information on the remaining battery%, here is my drone, with the 'scars' healed. Now ready, to fly with the modified FreeFly.

Good evening,

I hope that AnafiPilot1 will make the new Free Flight 6.7.1 special mod.
I have the FF6_6_7_0_FCC_SE_BATTERY.apk and works fine. We wait for FF6_6_7_1 FCC_SE_BATTERY.apk.

I want to ask you where is at settings, the special button ? I see the cordinates systems at Inteface, not at main menu. I have to do something else to show the Special Button at Settings ?

Thanks

Updated to version 6.7.1

Parrot have made some big changes to the code base in this release, some changes I noted.

  • Extra local media / phone media manager code
  • Extra alarms (Follow Drone too low, Follow Target too close, Verbose TF POI Take Off, Heading Lock Changed, Wind State Changed, Vibration Level Changed)
  • Calibration recommended alerts
  • Extra camera alignment code
  • Lots and lots GPS location validity code changes everywhere in the code
  • UA (Army) Model gets Light Mode interface
  • Feature unlocking is done by model type now MK3 Model, UA Model, USA Model- Possibly they are going to release a MK3 standard Anafi which is NOT a UA or USA model, so they needed to change the code to allow this, why else bother changing so much code!
