Yes that’s the solution. Most cards must be pre-formatted with FAT32 with a PC or laptop.
Then the card must be formatted again in Anafi.

ExFAT, formatted on my iMac is still readable by the Anafi, but, it is a 64GB disk & the recommendation from the SD card authority themselves is to format everything above 32GB as ExFAT.I'm not confused because of license aspects.
I think that many points in this thread do not match:
ExFAT readable in Anafi or not?
ExFAT format done on MAC usable in Anafi?
Only FAT32 is the correct formatting for Anafi (as known since the beginning and always mentioned by Parrot...)?
So some reports in this thread are contradictory here.
It's one of the ways I learn things quickly! It doesn't matter Alex. We can all be wrong.
Regards, Leif.
2. A MAC should not at all read, write or format exFAT without third party software or drivers.
Regards, Leif.
As Dirk commented here. I have had use of ExFAT as a format since 2010 on an old iMac using Snow Leopard.I found that ExFAT came with 10.6.6 (Snow Leopard) in 2009.

That's weird that it won't recognise them when done on a Mac! It used to, my 2 x 64GB disks were formatted as ExFAT initially in early January. I've now tried on 2 MacBook Pro's as well this morning & it refuses to recognise them in the Anafi, regardless of whether they are formatted as ExFAT or FAT32.View attachment 1308

See here Alex. I just formatted the SDXC card from Anafi in exFAT. It gives the red icon of one's SD card in FF6 which you have to reformat. After reformatting, the SDXC card is formatted as FAT32 again.

If I use the SD Card Formatter app, they work perfectly though. Weird!![]()
Just wait Supermoon in two days, things will get really weird???
Enlightened! That must be referring to Leif & Agustine! I'm a troglodite through & through...Things are enligthened here!
Good forum, good users! ?
Last question:
Are there any changes in dealing with SD cards since the new update 6.4.0/1.4.0?
My impression: No.
It's okay Dirk, I refer to myself as a caveman because of my limitations with certain technologies & my lack of involvement with social media.Oh, I as a non-native English speaking man had to google "troglodite".
That's "Höhlenmensch" in my language ...
I would never ever call someone that way (but are we not all troglodites??).
Of course I also ment you with "enligthened"! ?
Conclusion:
- nothing changed with SD cards
- MAC users have to use a formatting app (NEW!)
That is not actually true at all.Original poster here.
Here is the point/conclusion of this entire thread:
A Macintosh cannot seem to format a SD card correctly for ANAFI, you must use Windows to format it FAT32.

The old app/FW version allowed you to get around this by showing SD Error and letting you format the SD Card directly.
The new App/FW no longer allows this workaround—format is not available when SD Error is displayed.
It was possible before, but not now.
